The concept of \nFiduciary Management can be traced back to Ambachtsheer and Ezra. They \nintroduced the term in their book <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wiley.com\/en-us\/Pension+Fund+Excellence%3A+Creating+Value+for+Stockholders-p-9780471246558\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Pension Fund Excellence<\/em><\/a>\n (1998), distinguishing three fiduciary roles for a pension fund, i.e. \nthe governing fiduciary, managing fiduciary and operational fiduciary. \nIn the Netherlands, the concept has been taken to the next level by \nAnton van Nunen. Pension funds transferred asset management and related \nactivities or the entire balance sheet management to a single party, the\n Fiduciary. Then, the supervisory authority imposed stricter \nrequirements and increased demands on the professionalism of the \ndirectors of pension funds. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Martin Mlyn\u00e1r: &#8220;During that time, pension fund directors had to deal \nwith significant changes how to make their choices.
